Today, Wayne Rosenthal (R-Morrisonville) was sworn-in to represent the people of the 108th District in the Illinois House of Representatives for the 103rd General Assembly of the state of Illinois. Rosenthal returns to the legislature after previously serving in the state House from 2011 to 2015 before going on to serve as the Director of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources from 2015 to 2019.
“I want to express my thanks to the people of the 108th District for giving me the opportunity to represent them in the 103rd General Assembly,” said Rosenthal. “I decided to return to the House because of the people. During my previous service in the legislature, my top priority was providing the best possible constituent services to the people of the district, and over the past few years, residents have continued to reach out for assistance. Knowing how important this is to residents is why I will continue to make providing the best possible service my top priority. My door will always be open and I look forward to the next two years of being your resource.”
Before joining the General Assembly, Rosenthal served in the Illinois Air National Guard and the United States Air Force, ascending to the rank of Brigadier General. He earned a bachelor’s degree in math from Sangamon State University (now the University of Illinois-Springfield). He has also served on the Lincoln Land Community College Board of Trustees since 2009, including serving as the immediate past president.
Rosenthal and his wife Marcia celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last year and he continues to operate his family farm with his three sons. Rosenthal is also the proud grandfather of three grandsons and three granddaughters.
