Today We Celebrate World Down Syndrome Day

Today we celebrate World Down Syndrome Day and raise awareness about individuals who have an extra chromosome. Down syndrome occurs in about 1 in every 700 babies each year. There are three types of Down syndrome which are Trisomy 21, Translocation, and Mosaic. Services provided early on will often help babies and children to improve their physical and intellectual abilities.

Down syndrome is a lifelong condition and requires special services to ensure a healthy and proactive life for individuals affected by the condition. Tailoring these services to each person helps them thrive in society with their special talents. Today we celebrate and applaud everyone who helps those in need to be the best version of themselves and to be healthy and happy.
