We were excited to welcome the Riverton 4th grade class to the Illinois State Capitol this week for an educational and memorable field trip. Over 50 enthusiastic students, along with their dedicated teachers and chaperones, filled the historic halls with curiosity and energy.
Wearing bright orange Riverton school shirts, the students toured the Capitol building, learned about the legislative process, and had the chance to ask questions about how state government works. It was an honor to meet them, hear their thoughts, and share a little about what I do here in Springfield.
Visits like these are a wonderful reminder of the importance of civic education and inspiring the next generation of leaders. Thank you to Riverton Elementary School for making the trip, and we hope the students enjoyed their day of learning and exploration at the Capitol!
