Early this year, the community came together to celebrate the grand opening of Scheels Sports Park at Legacy Pointe in Springfield. This week, Rep. Wayne Rosenthal and a delegation of legislators and staff toured the facilites for an update on the progress with expansions and program development.
“This is a great investment in the region that will attract local families and visitors to the Springfield area and be an economic engine for the recreational tourism segment of our local economy,” said Rep. Rosenthal of the 108th District.
Scheels Sports Park is home to the largest air-supported sports dome in the world, along with a wide range of outdoor facilities for athletes. This complex is expected to serve as a year-round hub for athletics, entertainment, and community engagement.
